New grading periods for parish schools The Concordia Parish School Board voted to change grading periods for parish schools from six weeks to nine weeks for the 2010-11 school year and took care of a number of routine matters during a brief Thursday night.
Supt. Loretta Blankenstein said the "nine week grading period will allow more opportunity to provide intervention for students to help them succeed with their school work. It will also allow for more teaching time before report cards are issued. As it is set up now, parents receive the report card and then in a couple of days receive the progress report."
