Story Archives: Huntington to host Briarfield in DH

Huntington to host Briarfield in DH
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Huntington School was scheduled to play at Briarfield Academy in Lake Providence Monday, but Briarfield's field has not been completed for this season so the two teams will play a doubleheader in Ferriday Thursday beginning at 4 p.m.

"We need to win these games because that would clinch third place for us for the district tournament," said Huntington coach Matt Mason.

Mason also said the district tournament on April 15-16 will be held at Huntington, although Trinity will be considered the host team.

Huntington fell to Franklin 19-5 in a non-district game in Winnsboro Thursday.

"Franklin hit the ball well," Mason said. "We hit the ball pretty well, but not the way they did. We also made some miscues which you can't do against a team which hits the ball as well as they do."
