Tony Joe White headlines 9th Delta Music Fest A great day celebrating music is planned in downtown Ferriday Saturday.
The ninth annual Delta Music Festival will offer a day of musical entertainment Saturday with Oak Grove native Tony Joe White headlining the event.
According to museum director Judith Bingham, this week is hectic as usual right before the festival and as always they are hoping for beautiful weather.
"Everything is falling into place and Tony Joe is set to go," said Bingham.
White will be inducted into the Delta Music Hall of Fame by Secretary of State Jay Dardenne at 2:45. He will be singing "Polk Salad Annie" and several other hits following the induction ceremony.
White said he's looking forward to performing in Ferriday Saturday and to being inducted into the Delta Music Hall of Fame.
"That is real cool," White said "It's always good to be honored in Louisiana."
