Meeting set on Vidalia recreation millage extension The first of two public meetings on the Recreation District No. 3 proposed sports complex in Vidalia is slated Thursday, April 8, at the Vidalia Conference Center beginning at 6 p.m.
The district board is seeking comments from the public on the complex and the proposed extension of the current 3.98-mill tax from 10 years to 40 years. There is no proposal to increase the millage, only to extend it, said Marc Archer, chairman of the recreation board.
The election is slated for May 1.
The second public hearing will be held Thursday, April 15, in the Concordia Parish Police Jury meeting room at 6 p.m.
