A Ferriday man was charged with first-degree murder, three counts of attempted first-degree murder and parole violation after a shooting late Saturday night that claimed the life of 25-year-old Reginald Green of Ferriday.

In two unrelated cases, a Ferriday man was shot three times in the hip on Friday and another shot in the arm and chest with the same bullet on March 31.

Ferriday police responded to the call Saturday at 10:23 p.m. on Seventh Street where they found Reginald Green dead at the scene in a parked SUV in front of 803 Alabama.

Ferriday Asst. Police Chief Johnny Evans said 35-year-old Bryant LaKeith Bethley, 126 Lee Tyler Road, was arrested and booked for the murder. Evans said the shooting followed an argument between Bethley and Green over the telephone earlier in which "one of them accused the other of taking $700 from his mother."
