Police Jury hires architect for roof project The Concordia Parish Police Jury took care of a number of items during a brief regular meeting Monday night, including hiring Barron Heinberg & Brocato of Alexandria as architect for the new courthouse roof project.
The Jury received a $555,635 federal grant last year through the Federal Emergency Mangement Agency for the new roof which will include a wind retrofit feature that will provide protection against 120 miles per hour wind speeds.
In other business, the Jury:
-- Approved final payments to Don Tolar totaling $2,161.20 and to Davenport, Files & Kelly, LLP, totaling $3,862.38 in connection with litigation involving the Phase 1 hardsurfacing project.
-- Heard a presentation from Larry Walters of IBTS on Louisiana Flood Insurance Maps.
-- Approved a request from the National Guard to cut grass at the armory once a month.
-- Authorized the purchase of a L-350, one-ton pickup on state contract from Hixon Autoplex totaling $39,954 for the maintenance unit.
-- Voted to hold a public hearing to set a 25-mph speed limit on Rountree Road. |
