Ferriday boil water notice lifted Say good-bye to the water buffaloes and the boil water notice.
And hello to good water.
Ferriday's new water tank was officially dedicated today (Wednesday) and the boil water notice lifted following state inspections this week.
"I'm thankful to everyone, but especially the people of Ferriday for their patience," said Ferriday Mayor Glen McGlothin. "It has been hard on everybody. And it would have been a lot more inconvenient without those water buffaloes and the National Guard."
A ribbon cutting ceremony dedicating the new tank was held at 11 a.m. today with a number of public officials on hand, including Rep. Andy Anders, Sen. Neil Riser, Sen. Francis Thompson, Murphy Chestnut with Rep. Rodney Alexander's office, Quint Carriere with Sen. David Vitter's office and other officials.
