Three tax renewals were overwhelmingly approved by voters in Concordia on Saturday including the Concordia Recreation District No. 3 millage, which clears the way for construction of the Vidalia Recreation Complex next year.

Voters in the district approved extending the term of the 4-mill tax from 10 years to 41 years. Seventy-two percent of the voters in the district's seven precincts as well as absentee voters favored the extended renewal, 444 to 169.

Clerk of Court Clyde Ray Webber said 10.2 percent of the parish's 13,694 voters cast ballots on Saturday.
