Mayor gives updates on Ferriday grants Mayor Glen McGlothin updated the Ferriday Town Council at its regular meeting Monday night on the status of more than $1 million in grants and projects.
"I visited Baton Rouge yesterday (Monday) and the good news is that we just received our $755,700 state grant for upgrades to the sewer plant," McGlothin said. "Unfortunately, the bids we received were over that. So we're going to rebid that out over the next 30 days. So far we have six bidders. The price of upgrading the plant has gone up. We're just going to have to narrow the project down."
McGlothin said the town also received a $35,000 grant to be used for equipment at the water plant.
