John Thomas Mott, Jr., 41, of Vidalia died Sunday, May 16, 2010, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Mr. Mott had been in law enforcement for 12 years serving the past three as a deputy with the Concordia Parish Sheriff's Office. Deputy Mott enjoyed spending time with his daughters, hunting, fishing, riding his Harley and weight lifting.

Friends may call on the family 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010, at Fishnet Worship Center located on Hwy 34 outside of West Monroe and Friday 10 a.m. until service time.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Fishnet Worship Center with Reverend Russell Rhodes officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, near Chatham, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Deputy Mott is survived by daughters, Ashley Mott and Hailey Mott, both of Lake Saint John; mother, Doris Wilhite Mott of Chatham; brother, Gerald Mott and wife Barbara of Chatham; niece, Stacy Mott of West Monroe. He is also survived by the mother of his daughters, Tina Mott.

Deputy Mott was preceded in death by his father, John Thomas Mott and nephew Steven Mott.

Pallbearers will be Steve Williams, Trey Fluitt, Robert Charles Pain, Jr, Jarrod Lenard, Jack Fletcher and Chris Groh.
