Jean Drews Graveside services for Jean Demarest Drews, 79, of Vidalia were held at National Cemetery in Natchez on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at 12:30 p.m. with Father George Pookkattu officiating. Services were under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Vidalia.
Mrs. Drews was born on April 22, 1931, in Welsh and passed away Sunday, May 23, 2010, at Camelot Leisure Living. She was a resident of Vidalia, a homemaker and an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Vidalia.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Dean Demarest and mother, Eve Demarest.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Robert J. Drews of Vidalia; son, Robert J. Drews and Elizabeth of Mobile, AL; son, James Drews and Wendy of Monterey; daughter, Julia Drews of Vidalia; daughter, Jeanie Drews Hogan and Danny of Vidalia; nine grandchildren --Heather Lancaster, Mary Drews, Sara Drews, Joseph Drews, Marx James, Mickey Hogan, Chandler Grimsley, Nicole Litton and Robby Welch; sister, Helen Timmerman; stepmother, Vina Demarest. She was also survived by five great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Chandler Grimsley, Jamie Lancaster, Joseph Drews, Marx James, Mike Porter and Robby Welch.
Honorary pallbearers were Drew Porter, Lee Lancaster, Mickey Hogan, Olivia Lancaster, Ryan Roberts and Madison Jones.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Vidalia. |
