Renovation, expansion on tap at Ferriday campus

Louisiana Technical College Shelby Jackson Campus is now known as Central Louisiana Technical College and expansion and renovation plans have been announced.

The name change is part of a general revision of the technical college system statewide, while campus Dean Mignonne Ater said the work on tap at the Ferriday school will begin in November.

"I'm expecting our enrollment to double and maybe even triple over the next three years," Ater told the Ferriday Rotary Club Thursday. "I think we will need another building in five years."

For now, the Shelby Jackson Campus is undergoing changes that will not necessarily make the campus larger, but will make it look much nicer, Ater said.
