Funeral services for Elaine Maxwell, 79, of Monroe were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Fairpark Baptist Church in West Monroe with Brother Waymond Warren officiating.

Burial followed at Wilhite Cemetery in Monroe under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home.

Mrs. Maxwell was born on November 2, 1930, in West Monroe and passed away June 3, 2010 in Monroe.

She loved to play cards and gardening was her passion in life. She was a former President of the Louisiana Florist Association and was the owner of Elaine's Plants and Flowers, which she operated for more than 40 years.

She is survived by her daughter Lydia Hearn and husband, Russell; son Randy Maxwell and wife, Roselinda; sister Margie Sullivan; sister-in-law Sissy Caldwell; granddaughters Nicole Creighton and Sharon Hipp; grandsons Jason Maxwell and Russ Hearn; as well as a number of great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Russ Hearn, Taylor Hipp, Mike Hipp, Jason Maxwell, Michael Creighton and Leon Caldwell, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers were Rex Burget, Ronnie Hendricks, Johnny Patrick and Johnny Reeves.
