Charles A. 'Hank' Howington Funeral services for Charles A. "Hank" Howington, 84, of Vidalia were held Monday, June 7, 2010, 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Revs. Ron Ledford and Paul Southerland officiating.
Burial followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Natchez under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.
Mr. Howington was born May 10, 1926, in Hall Summit, the youngest of seven children, to Chales Edward and Pairlee Myers Howington. He passed away Saturday, June 5, 2010, at his residence.
Mr. Howington had been a resident of Vidalia for the past 35 years and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Vidalia. He was a retired lab technician with International Paper Company in Natchez.
He was preceded in death by his spouses, Lorene Howington and Sarah Howington; two brothers, Willie Howington and Fred Howington; and two sisters, Trudy Nelson and Ora Fife.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Knapp Howington of Vidalia; sons Gerry Howington and wife, Mary, of Pineville, and Rickey Howington and wife, Anita, of Pine Bluff, Ark.; daughters Shirley Carter and husband, William, of McGehee, Ark., and Sherry Hogue of Vidalia; brother, Tom Howington of Ferriday; sister Tressie Siddon of Baskin; as well as eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Albert Lee French, Gene Steen, Eldon Stigall, Joe Swoveland, Charlie Howington and Adam Howington. |
