Elizabeth "Betty" Hopkins
Funeral services for Elizabeth "Betty" Hopkins, 84 of Vidalia, were held at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 11 a.m. with Bro. Bobby Franklin officiating.
Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Florien under the direction of Young's Funeral Home Vidalia.
Mrs. Hopkins was born on September 16, 1925, in Rich Hill, MO, and passed away Monday, June 28, 2010 at Promise Hospital in Vidalia.
She was a proud and loving mother to her children, who were very lucky to have her as their mother. She had a love and a special way of taking care of children. Betty loved to write poetry and short stories. She was an member of the First Baptist Church of Vidalia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hardy Adron Hopkins; father, Charles Henry White; mother, Edith Mae White; and brother, Robert Charles White.
Survivors include daughter, Edith Ann Hopkins of Vidalia; son, Hardy Hopkins Jr. and wife Mary Ellen of Prairieville; daughter, Mary Beard of Vidalia; son, Thomas Hopkins and Jane Reh of Mena, AR; seven grandchildren, Jeff Hopkins and wife Sue of Monroe, Kim Luebkeman and husband Bill of Baton Rouge, Sarah Beard of Pensacola, FL, Emily Beard and fiance Travis Barfield of Vidalia, Brian Beard of Ruston, Leslie Hopkins and Mark Hopkins both of Benton, IL. She was also survived by and six great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. |
