Vidalia, Ridgecrest receive grants The City of Vidalia is receiving $423,720 in state funds for rehabilitation of sewer mains, while the town of Ridgecrest is receiving $402,688 in state funds for the reconstruction of Vidalia Drive.
Sens. Neil Riser and Rep. Andy Anders announced the grants, which were awarded in the form of Louisiana Community Development Block Grants.
"These are very important projects that are vital to the citizens of these towns," Riser and Anders said in a joint statement. "It will provide much needed assistance to our rural towns. These funds will provide critical improvements to the town's streets. We need to assist our small rural towns and cities by investing state resources into their aging systems. We can't take these critical services for granted."
