Ronnie Bradford of Ferriday was appointed to the Concordia Parish School Board District 4A seat Tuesday night during a special meeting of the board.

Bradford will serve the remaining seven months of the four-year term of Ricky Raven, who resigned after moving out of the district. Bradford was named to the post on a 5-2 vote, garnering support from Martha Rabb, Gary Parnham, Daryl Price, Darlene Baker and Deani Roberts.

Marilyn Campbell and Raymond Riley voted against Bradford, while Fred Butcher abstained.

While Baker nominated Bradford for the post, the board first considered Kelvin Dewayne Davis, who was nominated by Butcher.

Davis was supported by Butcher, Campbell and Riley, but opposed by Rabb, Parnham, Price, Baker and Roberts.
