Ferriday tax incentive may boost business

Ferriday Mayor Glen McGlothin and Concordia Parish Economic and Industrial Development Director Heather Malone told the Ferriday Board of Alderman Tuesday that the town may soon benefit economically from a state tax incentive involving renovation.

Malone said the tax incentive is available to businesses that renovate existing buildings within the town economic district and has recently led to calls for new business prospects in Ferriday.

McGlothin said a business prospect has contacted Ferriday about acquiring a building with the intention of putting three businesses inside. McGlothin said another business is interested in re-locating to a building on E.E. Wallace.
