The East Central Dixie Majors All-Star teams are competing at the state tournament in Winnsboro.

East Central, which is 2-1 in the tournament defeated Franklin Parish 3-2 Monday and had a bye Tuesday.

The Dixie Majors lost to Bossier National, 11-1 Saturday.

"We didn't play well all around," said East Central coach Greg Naquin.

East Central defeated Ponchaoula 10-5 Sunday.

"Caleb Upton pitched real well," Naquin said.

Javon Washington got the win against Franklin Parish.

The contest was tied 2-2 when Austin Chauvin singled, Lee Swinney bunted him to second and Heath White reached on an error for the winning run.

East Central Dixie Majors is facing the Terrebonne-Bossier American winner today (Wednesday).

East Central can finish no worse than third in the tournament. The top two teams advance to the World Series, which will be played in Independence, La.

The East Central Pre-Majors lost to Monroe and Bayou and were eliminated from the tournament.
