Joan Hagerman Wheat Funeral services for Joan Hagerman Wheat, 78, of Clayton were held Saturday, July 10, 2010, 10 a.m. at Comer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Raymond Beard officiating.
Burial followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mrs. Wheat was born November 8, 1931, the daughter of Edward and Anita Hagerman. She passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010, in Winnsboro.
Mrs. Wheat had been a resident of Clayton and a member of New Life Assembly of God. She retired from the telephone company after 19 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lois Dolan; and three brothers, Edward, Robert and Lenard Hagerman.
Survivors include her husband, William Wheat Sr.; two sons, William Wheat Jr., and Edward Wheat; one daughter, Laura White; one sister, Janet Hawkins; nine grandchildren, John, Andrew, Mary Frances and Sarah Wheat, Christopher Dollar, Taylor Jackson, Greg, Ken and Sarah White; and two great-grandchildren, Tanner and Hayden.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Stockstill, Rhett Hill, Blaine Hill, J.C. Roberson, Coye Pace and Butch Hammett.
Honorary pallbearers were T.C. Lee, Charles Barron and Dr. Herman Gibson. |
