Trooper booked locally on juvenile sex charges

Louisiana State Trooper Jay Sandifer, who was placed on forced annual leave a few weeks ago, is being held under a $1.75 million bond in Concordia Parish following his arrest here on Monday.

Sandifer, 39, of Vidalia, was arrested by the Louisiana State Police and booked in Concordia Parish on sexual charges involving a juvenile, according to Sheriff Randy Maxwell.

Judge Glen Strong set his bond on Tuesday.

Sandifer was charged with one count molestation of a juvenile, one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile, two counts oral sexual battery of a juvenile, two counts carnal knowledge, felony, of a juvenile, and one count sexual battery of a juvenile.
