ACCS hosts Cenla

Adams County Christian School hosts Cenla Christian in its first game of the season Friday at Bobby Marks Stadium.
"They have some big linemen and a hard-running back in No. 5," said AC coach Paul Hayles. "We have to be ready to play and be focused."
ACCS fell to River Oaks 21-0 in the Copiah Jamboree before losing to East Rankin 14-8 in Gallman Thursday.
"We had some self-inflicted wounds against a really good ball club," Hayles said. "River Oaks is very talented, but we had turnovers. We missed some receivers. We missed some blocks."
In the second game, East Rankin was up 8-0 when the Patriots went for a field goal.
But a penalty was called against the Patriots and the Rebels accepted the penalty, putting them out of field goal range. ACCS responded with a 65-yard touchdown pass from Kent Yates to Corey Emanuel.
"We started getting some rhythm late against River Oaks," Hayles said. "We had more success running the ball in the second game and that opened up our passing game."
