Story Archives: Trinity welcomes Prairie View

Trinity welcomes Prairie View
by Joey Martin - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Trinity opens its season Friday at home against Prairie View.
Prairie View has a new coaching staff and they've got a lot of talent," said Trinity head coach David King. "They have some good football players. We have to make some improvements from the (Cathedral) jamboree last week and continue to improve as the year goes on. We've got a lot of new players and we just have to hope we haven't put too much on them too soon. We've got 32 players and I've never had more than 25, so that's been an adjustment for our staff."
Trinity blanked St. Aloysius 24-0 Friday in the Cathedral Jamboree.
The first half was scoreless, although Trinity had a big opportunity to score before fumbling the ball on the St. Al 1-yard line.
Trinity's first score came as sGivonni Dent scored on a quarterback draw from 13 yards out. Daniel Dunaway ran in the two-point conversion.
Trinity scored again when WCCA transfer Tip McKenzie took a pitch and scored from six yards away. Dunaway added his second conversion.
Dent scored his second TD after another Flash fumble, going in from 37 yards out. Dent passed to Jake Winston on the conversion.
