A total of 83 early votes were cast through Monday for the party primaries election on Saturday.

The Registrar of Voters office said 62 votes were cast in-person at the registrar's office through the Aug. 21 deadline while 21 came in by mail.

Clerk of Court Clyde Ray Webber said the polls will open at 6 a.m. Saturday and close at 8 p.m.

"This is a party primary, not an open primary," said Webber, "and there will likely be some confusion about this at the polls."

He said a low turnout is expected.
