Ryder Cup back in Ferriday The Ryder Cup is back in Ferriday.
After falling to LaSalle Country Club last year, the Panola Woods Country Club team defeated the LaSalle team from Jena 25 1/2 to 22 1/2.
Panola won the foursomes round 7 1/2 to 4 1/2, edged LaSalle in the four-ball 6 1/2 to 5 1/2 and fell in the individuals 12 1/2 to 11 1/2.
Members of the Panola team are Lee Rife, David Jones, Doug Wike, Mike Smith, C.J. Swillie, Michael Burley, Clyde Savoy, Johnny Goodwin, Craig Jackson, Frankie Spence, Wayne Miley, Coye Pace, Michael Tumminello, Ellis Knapp, George Cupit, Babe Huff, Jerry Johns, Pat Hinson, Jeremy Wood, Matt Malone, Larry Wagoner, Mitch Ashmore, Bill Colvin and Cliff McGlothin.
Teaming up for wins in the 4-Ball were Colvin-Malone, Wagoner-Huff, Hinson-Goodwin, Cupit-Miley, Wood-Tuminello, Knapp and Savoy and Rife and Jones.
Earning wins in Foursomes were McGlothin-Miley, Malone-Spence, Wagoner-Cupit, Hinson-Savoy, Pace-Johns, Goodwin-Jackson, Swillie-Tuminello and Burley-Jones.
Next year's match will be played at the LaSalle Country Club in Jena.
The trophy will stay at Panola until LaSalle's team can defeat the Ferriday team. |
