Boy Scout membership drive underway On the evening of Thursday, September 2nd, the Louisiana Purchase Council, Boy Scouts of America will host Join Boy Scouts on Super Thursday events at approximately 150 schools throughout Central and Northeast Louisiana.
Parents or guardians and their sons are encouraged to attend these kickoffs to learn about all the Boy Scouts has to offer them.
To join Cub Scouts, youth must be 7 years old or the first grade. To join Boy Scouts, youth must be 11 years old or in the sixth grade.
School nights confirmed for Thursday, September 2nd include in Catahoula and Concordia Parishes include:
-- Catahoula:
Meeting place: Jonesville Elementary Cafeteria, 7 p.m., including Central, Harrisonburg Elementary, Jonesville Elementary, Jonesville Junior High, Monterey, Sandy Lake Academy.
-- Concordia:
Meeting place: Ferriday Lower Elementary cafeteria, 7 p.m., including Ferriday Lower Elementary, Ferriday Upper Elementary, Ridgecrest Elementary.
Meeting place: Vidalia Lower Elementary cafeteria, 7 p.m., including Vidalia Lower, Vidalia Upper.
Additional schools are being scheduled daily. Parishes included in Super Thursday include Allen, Avoyelles, Caldwell, Catahoula, Concordia, East Carroll, Franklin, Grant, Jackson, LaSalle, Lincoln, Madison, Morehouse, Ouachita, Rapides, Richland, Tensas, Union, West Carroll, and Winn.
