Flood damage study continues Officials with the Governor's Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) are continuing to assess flood damage in Concordia Parish from a storm two weeks ago.
Morris White, Concordia's Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness Director, said updated figures show that more than 100 homes suffered some degree of damage from the storm which dumped more than 10 inches of rain on Aug. 18.
Concordia Park was the hardest hit, White said.
He said that chances of getting a disaster declaration for the damage is more difficult since no businesses suffered losses.
"The decision will be up to GOHSEP and FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency)," said White. "We'll just have to wait and see."
