The unemployment rate for Concordia Parish in July stood at 11.7 percent, according to the Louisiana Department of Labor.

New statistics show that 6,602 parish residents were employed in July, while 873 were jobless.

Jobless rates in surrounding parishes were:

Catahoula, 10.1 percent, 4,118 employed, 465 jobless.

Franklin, 11.4 percent, 7,243 employed, 932 jobless.

Tensas, 14.9 percent, 1,846 employed, 325 jobless.

Unemployment rates decreased in all parishes in July as the state's unadjusted civilian labor force grew by 5,942 to its highest July total ever, the Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWS) reported.

Louisiana's unadjusted civilian labor force in July was 2,134,181, an increase of 26,606 from a year ago.
