Story Archives: Wave hosts Enterprise

Wave hosts Enterprise
by Joey Martin - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Cathedral High opens its home schedule against Enterprise Friday after two road wins, including a 48-34 upset win at Loyd Star in which Cathedral quarterback Caleb Upton passed for 471 yards.

"I guess the pressure is on, everybody is going to be expecting big passing games each week," first-year Cathedral coach Ron Rushing said with a laugh. "Actually I would love to run it 60 times if it meant coming out with a win."

Rushing said Enterprise is one of the few teams that the Green Wave will have a size advantage over.

"They are real scrappy," Rushing said. "They play really hard and are well-coached. They are very basic and run a lt of leads and power sweeps. They run a 4-4 on defense."

Cathedral had an open date last Friday night.

We were able to go over some mistakes we made against Loyd Star," Rushing said. "The guys are eager to play before the home crowd. And hopeully we will have a big crowd."
