Vidalia supports housing complex

The Vidalia Town Council Tuesday night took steps to attract more housing, expanded the city limits, approved a grass cutting ordinance and processed paperwork for a USDA loan to finance the new municipal complex.

The proposed apartment complex is in the initial planning stages by an unnamed private investor who is seeking federal assistance, according to City Manager Ken Walker. He said the complex would provide 54 "affordable" homes located on Hwy. 84 across from Walmart.
