Bids, bonds viewed for Vidalia Municipal Complex The Vidalia Town Council, in a special meeting Monday, voted to issue bonds in the amount of $6.9 million to finance its new municipal complex.
That action followed bid openings for the project on Thursday, Sept. 16, during which Clark Construction Company of McComb, Miss., was awarded the low bid at $5,797,874.18
Mayor Hyram Copeland said the company was the contractor which constructed the Walmart store in Vidalia.
Other bidders included:
Ratcliff Construction Company, Alexandria, $6,003,499.55.
Blount General Contractors, Walker, $6,074,419.25.
Paul Jackson & Son, Inc., Brookhaven, Miss., $6,740,898.
Cecil D. Gassiott LLC, Alexandria, $7,464,179.73.
