Concordia Parish Police Jury President Melvin Ferrington said he will meet with state and parish emergency management officials next week to discuss the cost and specifications for a new roof on the new courthouse.

Ferrington said a quote for construction of a pitched metal roof is higher than the $555,000 in grant funding the Jury has available for the project, while a quote for a flat roof is affordable.

In a meeting with officials with the Governor's Office on Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness and the Federal Emergency Management Area, Ferrington said he will ask what course the Jury should take.
