Water rate hike approved in Ferriday
The Ferriday Town Council adopted a resolution Tuesday night to raise water rates after an ultimatum from USDA.
"They told us there were no ifs, ands or buts about it," said Mayor Pro Tempore Johnny Brown.
Brown was filling in for Mayor Glen McGlothin, who is recovering from surgery Monday after being diagnosed with colon cancer in late September.
Town attorney Anna Ferguson said the surgery went better than expected and that McGlothin thanks everyone for their prayers and support.
