Farmer sign-up begins for 2009 CAP funding

USDA began providing disaster assistance on Monday to producers of rice, upland cotton, soybeans and sweet potatoes that suffered losses in 2009 because of excessive moisture or related conditions in 2009.

This assistance is being issued by the Farm Service Agency through the Crop Assistance Program. Up to $550 million will be provided.
