When asked by a Vidalia Lions Club member if he would ever see the four-laning of Ferriday to Jonesville in his lifetime, Chris Roussell answered, "How long are you going to live?"

Roussell, the Area Engineer for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LDOTD) in Chase, wasn't being sarcastic, he was just being brutally honest. He said the project remains unfunded.

"It's on the books, but we don't have any let dates," Roussell said. " Preliminary plans and right of way maps have been complete. Final plans have not been completed and there is no estimated let date."
