Lab identifies teen's body found in Catahoula Parish; girl's mother missing The body of a young white female found in a wooded area north of Harrisonburg on Oct. 8 has been identified as 12-year-old Lexis Kaye Roberts of Las Vegas, Nev.
Her death is being treated as a homicide, said Catahoula Parish Sheriff James Kelly.
He said the teen was identified Tuesday through dental records by the LSU FACES (Forensic Anthropology and Computer Enhancement Services) Laboratory in Baton Rouge, directed by Mary Manhein.
Kelly said the girl's mother, 31-year-old Suellen Roberts of Las Vegas, is missing.
"She was last seen in Arizona on Sept. 5," Kelly said.
