Voter turnout 42% in Concordia

Concordia voters followed statewide voting patterns on Tuesday, helping elect Secretary of State Jay Dardenne as Lieutenant Governor and re-electing David Vitter as U.S. Senator.

Voter turnout was also much higher than expected in the parish. According to the Clerk of Court's office, 42 percent of the parish electorate cast ballots on Tuesday.

Parish voters also were in line with state voters on 10 constitutional amendments, supporting eight but helping to defeat amendments four and seven.
