Mayor will veto video poker

Ferriday Mayor Glen McGlothin said he will veto a resolution passed by the Ferriday Board of Aldermen Tuesday night approving electronic video bingo on a 3-1 vote.

Elijah "Stepper" Banks offered the motion at the meeting. Gail Pryor and Gloria Lloyd voted in support, Somer Lewis voted against it, and Johnnie Brown abstained.

McGlothin cautioned at the beginning of the meeting that all should be civil in discussion of the issue.

"I know when we have something controversial that people can have a difference of opinion," McGlothin said. "Personally, I think this ordinance needs to have more particulars."
