Catahoula Sheriff James Glen Kelly said Tuesday that the man believed responsible for the murders of a 31-year-old Las Vegas woman and her 12-year-old daughter will make his first court appearance at 11 a.m. Friday in Alexandria.

Thomas Steven Sanders, 53, a man whose family declared him dead years ago, has been charged with a federal count of kidnapping and faces murder charges in Catahoula Parish and in Yavapai County, Arizona.

Kelly said the body of Suellen Roberts, 31, was found in Arizona Monday morning on information provided by Sanders, who has been cooperative since his arrest Sunday.

"He told us where to look," said Kelly.

Sanders was arrested at the Flying J Truck Stop in Gulfport, Miss., at 7 a.m. Sunday.
