School employees to get August check
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The Concordia Parish School Board agreed at its regular meeting Thursday night to provide school employees an additional check in August 2011.

On a unanimous vote, the board voted to provide $600 each to all currently employed, full-time staff hired on or before October 1, 2010.

Additionally, the board determined that the 13th check will be paid the second Friday of January 2012. Amounts to be paid include $200 each for non-certified employees and $400 each for certified employees. As in the past, the board will determine next November if the amount can be raised based on sales tax revenue.

Finance Committee Chairman Fred Butcher offered the motion after commending Supt. Loretta Blankenstein for her work in researching the matter.

Board President Gary Parnham commended the board for continuing to be "very gracious with our employees."
