Property tax bill in Concordia $12.8 million for 2010

Property taxes due in Concordia Parish for 2010 totaled $12.8 million, up from last year's $12.5 million.

Homestead Exemption totaled $2.77 million for 2010, making the actual total tax bill for the year $15.59 million.

Taxes are due by Dec. 31, according to the Concordia Parish Sheriff's Office Tax Collection Division.

According to the Concordia Parish Tax Assessor's office, the total assessed property value parishwide is $158.1 million, while the total homestead assessed value is $28.2 million. Total taxable assessed value is $129.9 million.

The top taxpayer in the parish is once again Catalyst Old River Hydroelectric (Vidalia) at $3,604,970.90 followed by Union Underwear Co., Inc. (Bowling Green, Ky.), $1,362,521.23; and Martin Mills (Bowling Green, Ky.), $492,689.24.
