Louisiana voters will elect a governor and cast ballots for other statewide positions next fall, while Concordia voters will elect a number of parishwide officials and nine police jurors.

Clerk of Court Clyde Ray Webber said the first election on tap this year will be for chief of police in Vidalia on April 2. He said qualifying is slated for Feb. 9-11. The special election is being held to fill the unexpired term of former chief Tapper Hendricks.
