Road construction projects are planned in Concordia Parish over the next two years, including work on Hwy. 84 between Ferriday and Vidalia, overlay work at Monterey and intersection improvement in Ferriday, according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD).

Meanwhile, in Catahoula Parish, road construction work in Jonesville is nearing completion while plans are in the preliminary stages for construction of a $60 million bridge over the Ouachita River at Harrisonburg.

In Concordia, Moon said a project is planned in the Monterey area this year, while a two-phase, two-year project to overlay part of Hwy. 84 from Ferriday to Vidalia is slated for 2012-13.

Moon said future work also includes a safety project to realign a portion of Hwy. 15 along the Mississippi River levee near Ferriday and a safety project to improve the turning radius for 18-wheelers at the main intersection in Ferriday.
