Bids sought for recreation complex in Vidalia
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Construction of a new recreation complex in Vidalia should begin in 45 to 60 days, according to Marc Archer, chairman of the Concordia Recreation District No. 3 Board of Directors.

The Concordia Recreation Complex will cost an estimated $5.3 million, according to Archer.

The recreation board voted to advertise for bids during a special meeting on Monday. Bids are due March 31.

"We voted on advertising for final construction bids," said Archer. "It's a long process. You start with preliminary drawings with everything on your wish list. Then you work it down to final plans with the cost of everything, down to the concrete. On Monday, we voted on the final plans."
