Riverland Medical Center board chairman Jim Graves called it a "good problem."

When the monthly board meeting began Tuesday at 6 p.m., the hospital had 24 patients. Midway through the meeting, board member Dr. Kevin Ingram was called to the emergency room. Upon his return 20 minutes later, Ingram reported the number went up to 26.

"I have not seen anything like this," Graves said.

Riverland Medical Center finished in the black for the fourth straight month, posting a profit of $205,990.97 for the month of February.

The hospital had total patient revenue of $2.96 million, total deductions of $1.59 million and expenses of $1.36 million.
