DA collects $8,300 for victim restitution
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
District Attorney Brad Burget announced today that some $8,300 in restitution was recently collected in 7th Judicial District Court in Vidalia.

"We're glad to say that nine victims of various crimes were affected, this time, in a positive way," Burget said of the court-ordered restitution. "In some cases, victims never receive restitution because of the offender's inability to pay.

"This is always a more preferred outcome for the victims and I'm glad my office was able to play a role in recovering this restitution."

Burget said the restitution was collected during a single court day, April 6, 2011, with Judge Kathy Johnson presiding.
