Recreation complex changes reported
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
City of Vidalia Recreation Director Johnny Lee Hoffpauir said revised plans for the Concordia Recreation Complex include the replacement of the adult softball park with two T-ball softball parks and narrowing the sidewalks 18 inches.

The changes were designed to cut costs for new bids on the facility, he said.

Concrete used in the middle of the facility will also be cut back.

Womack and Sons Construction Group of Harrisonburg was the low bidder at $4.75 million.

Hoffpauir told the Vidalia Lions Club April 20 that soccer fields are being moved to where the T-Ball fields were going to be originally located, thus eliminating an extra concession stand.

Hoffpauir showed plans for the complex, which included a diagram of the four baseball and five softball fields.
