Memorial Day celebration on tap
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The oldest Memorial Day celebration locally, dating back to the 19th century, will be held Monday as the annual walk across the bridge to honor veterans will be held at 8:40 a.m.

According to coordinator Frank Williams, line-up will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Magnolia Street in Vidalia.

The march usually proceeds across the bridge to the Natchez National Cemetery, but because of construction work being done at the cemetery, the walk will be to the Natchez Convention and Visitors Center on Canal Street where a program is scheduled.
