County agents gather in Concordia By JARED LOVETT County agents from across the state gathered at the Arcade Theater in Ferriday Monday night for a banquet that was a part of the Louisiana County Agricultural Agents Association's (LCAAA) annual convention.
Glen Daniels, county agent for Concordia and Catahoula parishes, hosted the event and said, "This is the first time for Concordia Parish to host the event and is the first time a lot of these agents have been to Concordia Parish."
Before the banquet started, the agents visiting the Delta Music Museum. Once the agents walked next door to the Arcade Theater, they were welcomed by Mayor Glen McGlothin who thanked them for attending. In addition to the food and drink, a silent auction was held, with proceeds benefiting 4-H students around the state.
Dr. John Barnett, regional director of the LSU AgCenter, said this year's convention provides an overview of agriculture in northeast Louisiana and is an opportunity for agents to see agriculture projects from another part of the state. According to Barnett, it is also a time to recognize the achievements of the county agents that work under his supervision.
