The Concordia Parish Police Jury had a clean audit for fiscal year 2010, CPA Myles Hopkins told jurors Monday night.

Hopkins said the audit indicated that Jury assets totaled $19,369,940, while longterm liability amounted to $10,565,742 for two phases of hardsurfacing road work and for machinery.

Hopkins said the Jury has $5,173,163 in cash. Of that $1,911,972 is restricted and can only be used to pay notes.

Total revenue last year was $5,903,453 derived from ad valorem taxes ($1,640,767), sales taxes ($2,080,987) and federal grants ($860,586.) Additional revenue totaling $700,000 came from settlement of a lawsuit.

Net income for the year was $164,481.

"This is a clean audit," Hopkins said.

Jury President Melvin Ferrington said he was pleased with the audit report.

"It's a good audit," he said. "We work very hard to keep our finances in order and watch our budget on a daily basis."
